As a school-based OT, I’m always looking for simple activities that are engaging, easy to prep, and actually target the skills students need for classroom participation. These FREE Blob Maze printables are a fun way to work on pencil control and visual-motor skills without making it feel like another handwriting worksheet.
The set includes Simple Waves, Curves and Angles, and Various Angle Changes, with each page asking students to draw between two lines to help the Blob reach the picture.
These tracing paths can help practice skills such as visual-motor integration, hand-eye coordination, pencil control, motor planning, sustained attention, and grading movement within boundaries. The different path styles also give students practice changing direction, navigating curves and corners, and slowing down enough to stay between the lines.
I like starting with the Simple Waves page and then progressing to Curves and Angles and Various Angle Changes as the student becomes more comfortable. You can also laminate the pages and use dry-erase markers so they can be reused during OT sessions, classroom centers, or fine motor warm-ups.
They’re quick to print, low prep, and a cute way to sneak in meaningful pre-writing practice!
